Real Weddings: John & Joyce’s Whimsical & Musical Wedding
John and Joyce met each other in 2006. They worked in the same hotel company and, as fate would have it, were brought together in the same team. Because of the nature of their jobs, long hours and shifting schedules, it was easy for them to get to know each other and develop a lasting friendship. Little did they know that they would be spending the rest of their lives together.
John and Joyce officially became a couple in 2009, and now, 5 years later, they decided to tie the knot, on a beautiful April morning at Blessed John Paul II Parish. Lunch reception followed at The Glass Garden, and once again, we’re so honored to witness such a momentous event in the lives of another beautiful and fun-loving couple.
The couple was meticulous about choosing their wedding theme and motif that they had to change plans several times. Joyce initially wanted a travel or a book-themed concept, and the couple was inclined to have an evening event with a midnight blue motif. All initial plans were scratched and what they had was something that’s quite possibly even more beautiful than they imagined.
John and Joyce decided on a music-themed wedding, and ended up having a morning event instead, which made them change their color motif to something that fits the time and venue–mint, peach, and coral accents.
A hands-on bride, Joyce DIY-ed some of the details like the napkin holder and the music-sheet petal cones herself. Much to their delight, one of Josiah’s Catering’s signature themes was perfect for the concept they had in mind. During one bridal fair, the couple saw Josiah’s Musicraft display and decided right there and then that they have to book us! It was, at the risk of sounding cheesy, like destiny.
Tables were clothed with beige linens embellished with beautiful gold details that almost resembled musical scales. Table centerpieces held an array of fresh floral arrangements in summer colors along with DIY paper flowers made of music sheets. Table numbers are pinned on cork boards, and mint table napkins are folded like windmills to complete the look.
Hello, musical notes all over the place!
On a personal note, it’s such a proud moment for me, seeing these photographs. Kudos to our design team for pulling off this beautiful concept. And much gratitude to John and Joyce for giving us this opportunity to execute the vision they have for their wedding.
Asked what their advise is for future couples, Joyce has this to say: “The stress, the arguments, and the misunderstandings will be inevitable during the preps. Learn to handle these and stick with each other. Teamwork is highly required. After all, you will be each other’s permanent team mate.” Take note, brides and grooms!
We may not know John and Joyce so well, but someone’s wedding is truly a reflection of the couple’s personalities, their beautiful love story, their love for each other, and the love they share with their family and friends.
More love and more joy for the two of you, John and Joyce, from your team at Josiah’s Catering!
