You probably heard of the plot. Two kids growing up together, often fighting, the girl bullying the boy, the boy hiding and running away from her. They go on separate paths, and, years later, they find each other and fall in love.
That’s pretty much what happened to Geff and Kim, plus the additional challenge of working out their relationship long distance. Now we can sum up their love story in one sentence, but the “real thing” is certainly more beautiful and more challenging then the storyline.
They got engaged during Kim’s visit here in the Philippines, after which she had to go back to Canada where she resides. Preparing for their wedding was a challenge, but they got by with loads of help from their friends and suppliers.
“It was really hard preparing for our wedding especially I (Kim) lives here in Canada; and Geff was still in school during the first months. We hired a coordinator but it was pretty hard for my side because I really want to do it myself but since Geff is the one available to do it there in Philippines. He took care of the church requirements, monthly payment deposits, going to NSO, everything. Since I can’t physically be there to help him I just took care of coordinating with our suppliers through emails with the help of our wedding coordinator. I went back to Manila on May, one month before the wedding and was finally able to help Geff with all things that we needed to do; met with our wedding coordinator, and met with ALL our suppliers as well to get to know them in person which was not normally being done by other couples. We got our suppliers from the suggestions of our family, friends and our coordinator. We love them all, and they / you all did a great job.”
The couple did lots of DIY, from their Save the Dates and Wedding Invites, to the cord and treasure box they used for the ceremony, to Geff’s boutonniere, guesbook, paper cranes, and souvenirs. The result was simply stunning.
Asked how they found out about Josiah’s, “I knew Josiah’s back then when I was still in Highschool as I passed by your office almost every day going to school; but my coordinator suggested your services to us too. When we had our food tasting, it was really fun, you immediately got our taste buds. I must say that the other food tasting we went was not as pleasing as what we had experienced with you.”
She added, “Josiah’s took care of us with an outstanding services throughout our wedding journey. From the first food tasting until the wedding day, you truly gave us great food and fantastic services. Thank you to Miss Happy and to the other staff of Josiah we greatly appreciated everything you did for us.”
Asked what advise to give future brides and grooms, Kim has this to say, “Chill, everything will be alright. You may get so frustrated because you want to make everything perfect on your wedding day. IT WILL!!! Relax, and remember no matter what, you both choose to be together; no matter how many arguments you might face during the preparation, endure it not only for the big day but because you and the love you your life will finally start a new beginning, new life together.”
Thank you Geff and Kim for such an inspiring love story, and for letting us witness your union. May the Lord bless your life together.
