Real Weddings: Rodfil & Aira’s Long Distance Love Story and Winter Wonderland Wedding
Rodfil and Aira lived in the same village practically their whole lives. They went to the same college and was introduced to each other by a common friend, but it wasn’t until Rodfil saw Aira walking inside their village that they both realized they lived close by. Since then, they would constantly bump into each other in school and in their neighborhood, until around the last part of 2008 where Rodfil decided to give it a shot and court her. She became his girlfriend in February 2009.
As they entered their 2nd year of dating, their love was put to a test when Aira had to migrate to America. With Rodfil having to stay in Manila, and both of them determined to keep the relationship alive, they entered a long and torturous long distance relationship, seeing each other only every 3-6 months.
In July 2012, while Rodfil was on a trip to Dallas, he carefully planned his proposal, took Aira to a beautiful garden in Dallas Arboretum and hired an undercover photographer to capture the moment. He got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage, and Aira happily said YES. How’s that for a long-distance love story? :)
Rodfil went back to Manila, and their challenging wedding preps began, having coordinated it long distance with their wedding coordinator Shane Ganalon, whom they found very professional and reliable. Josiah’s Catering was recommended to them by their wedding coordinator (thanks, Shane!), and we loved helping make Rodfil and Aira’s Winter Wonderland theme come to life.
Holiday Wedding Idea Alert! Because their wedding date was set on the Christmas season, the couple picked a unique and seasonal wedding theme: Winter Wonderland. For the color motif, hey combined colors that they loved which turned out very elegant and beautiful: navy blue, silver, and white. The result was absolutely stunning.
We love how intricate the snowflake details come out to be, and we all agree that Rodfil and Aira’s wedding was definitely one for the books.
Asked what advise to give future brides and grooms, the happy couple said:
No wedding is perfect. But it will always be the happiest moment to soak in and to remember for the rest of your lives.
Thank you Aira and Rod for sharing us your beautiful love story. We wish you more love and adventures as husband and wife. God bless!
