Real Weddings: Ed & Liz’s Mob-Style Starbucks Proposal, which Ends in this Beautiful Wedding

Edsel and Liz were college sweethearts who met in church, and whose love for each other was tested by time and distance when Ed had to live in Seattle, USA for over 2 years. Taking note of the funny coincidence that he lived in America’s coffee capital (Seattle), while his then-girlfriend was in the Philippine’s coffee capital (Batangas), Ed thought of proposing to Liz at a coffee shop. So he gathered up a choral group in a Starbucks branch, made them pretend to be customers, and got them to sing a special song in a surprise song-mob that many of us won’t soon forget. Watch Ed’s proposal here.

Needless to say, Liz said YES, and they began the path to marital bliss.

With a beautiful engagement story like theirs, you can only expect a wedding that is just as beautiful. With the help of their wedding planner, Charris of Chalebrations, Ed and Liz worked on executing the ideas they have for their wedding. They picked an elegant shade of purple as their wedding motif, and the result was stunning.

Liz’s mom has attended a wedding before that was catered by Josiah’s Catering, which gave her a pleasant first impression. So when they found Josiah’s Catering at Getting Married Bridal Expo and tried our cuisines, they booked us right there and then.

It was such a joy to be Ed and Liz’s caterers and event stylists. Combining purple with pink accents, their wedding reception was surely a romantic and photogenic evening that everyone—including us!—truly enjoyed.

Great wedding idea: Instagram your wedding! Everyone is going social, as they say, and there’s no reason why your wedding shouldn’t go social too. Provide a uniform hashtag (they went by #edandlizwedding) for your guests to use so that you can easily find and see your guests’ posts and images.

And, of course, there has to be a Starbucks station in the venue to complement our smorgasbord of delectable desserts, their attempt to take their guests back to the day they got engaged at Starbucks. A beautiful personal touch, indeed. Here’s how to get a Starbucks booth on your wedding day.

Thank you Ed & Liz for allowing us to witness another beautiful love story and for letting us become a part of it in our small way. May God continue to bless your journey together!
